The final result is meant to evoke feelings of deep space, without ever showing space. The vast lighting and object distance gives the feeling that 2 moons are blazing away, soaking this alien fortress in brilliance.

Space Garden

The perennials on this planet bloom like flowers, then excrete a layer that hardens into a rock-like carapace. Over a thousand years, they bloom upward toward the nearest star, creating beautiful spires. (At least that's my story for it)
